Protection That Is Worth Putting Under
A ceramic coating is the closest thing there is to permanent protection for paint. It bonds to the clear coat, sits harder than any wax, and stops water, road film and bug acid getting a grip in the first place. The part people underestimate is what goes underneath it. A coating locks in whatever it is applied over, so at Platinum Pro Clean the paint is corrected first and the two are quoted together after Bryce has seen the vehicle. Coatings start at $699.

What A Coating Job Involves
Three stages, in this order, every time. The order is the job: each one exists so the next is not wasted.
Decontamination
Nothing goes on the paint until everything that should not be there comes off. A wash removes what is loose, an iron remover pulls the bonded brake and rail dust that a wash cannot touch, and a clay treatment takes the paint back to smooth. Skip this and the coating seals the contamination in permanently.
- Full hand wash with a dedicated wheel and arch stage
- Iron fallout remover across every painted panel
- Tar and adhesive residue taken off by hand
- Clay treatment until the paint is smooth to the touch
Paint Correction First
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Bryce corrects the paint before anything is applied, because a swirl sealed under ceramic is a swirl you live with until the coating comes off. How many stages your paint needs is decided by looking at it, not by a package name.
- Paint read under direct light before the coating is quoted
- Machine compounding to cut out swirls and wash marks
- Finishing polish to bring the gloss back up
- Honest answer on anything too deep to safely remove
Coating and Cure
The panel is wiped down so the coating bonds to bare clear coat rather than to polish oils, then the product is applied and levelled one panel at a time. Trim, glass and wheels can be coated as well if you want the whole vehicle behaving the same way in the rain.
- Panel wipe so nothing sits between the coating and the clear coat
- Coating applied and levelled panel by panel
- Trim, glass and wheels coated on request
- Aftercare walked through before you take the vehicle back
Bryce quotes the coating, does the correction, applies the coating and hands the keys back himself. Nothing is passed to a second pair of hands once you have booked, and the person who tells you what your paint needs is the person who then does it.
Why Owners Coat A Vehicle
Four reasons that come up on nearly every quote, in Mooresville and across the Indianapolis side.
Gloss That Holds
A coating sits harder than wax and does not wash off in a fortnight. Corrected paint underneath it is what makes the depth, and the coating is what keeps that depth there instead of dulling off over a season.
Easier To Wash
Water beads and carries dirt off with it rather than drying on. Road film, bug acid and bird mess have far less to grip, so the vehicle cleans up faster every time and needs less scrubbing, which is what puts swirls back in.
Priced On Your Paint
Coatings start at $699, and the correction is quoted with it once Bryce has seen the vehicle. A car that has been hand washed its whole life and a truck that has lived in an automatic wash need different amounts of work, so they are not the same price.
Not Just Cars
Trucks, classics, boats and side by sides get coated on the same basis. If it has paint or gel coat and you want it protected, it is worth asking, including aircraft where the work is done at your hangar.
Coating is usually booked with paint correction, and plenty of owners add window tinting at the same time so the vehicle is only off the road once. If you keep an aircraft locally, aviation detailing is done on site at the hangar.
